今日のテーマは、私の特技についてです。

皆さんの特技はなんですか?
特技はなんですかと聞かれたら、何と答えますか?
私の特技は、質問されると悩むのですが、1つだけあります。
それは彫刻です。

最近はしていないのですが、私が中学生の時、美術の授業でよく彫刻の授業がありました。
木を掘って、お皿を作ったり、あと、入れ物を作ったりしていました。
私は手先が器用なので、彫刻がとても上手でした。
そこでは、毎年大きな美術の大会、コンクールですかね、そこで賞をとっていました。
それぐらい彫刻が得意だったんですね。
まぁ大人になってからは、していないんですけれども、まぁ彫刻刀も持っていないです。

しかし、最近キャンドルカービングを始めました。
まだ作品を作っていないのですが、キャンドルを掘ったり、ナイフで掘ったり、キャンドルの形を少し変えてみたりとか、まぁ彫刻っぽいことを楽しんでいます。
キャンドルカービングをしていると心が落ち着くんですよね。
まぁ私にとってそれは瞑想みたいな感じです。
私の特技は彫刻ですが、皆さんの特技はなんですか?

Today’s theme is about my special skill.

What are your special skills?
If someone asks you what your special skill is, what would you say?
When I am asked what my special skill is, I have a hard time, but there is only one.
It is sculpture.

I haven’t done it recently, but when I was in junior high school, we used to have a sculpture class in art class.
We carved wood and made plates and containers.
I was good with my hands, so I was very good at sculpting.
Every year, I won a prize in a big art competition.
That’s how good I was at sculpting.
Well, I haven’t done that since I became an adult, and I don’t even have a carving knife.

However, I have recently started candle carving.
I haven’t made any works yet, but I enjoy digging candles, using knives, changing the shape of the candles, and other sculptural things.
I find that candle carving calms me down.
It’s like meditation for me.
My specialty is carving, but what are your specialties?
