今日のテーマはクリスマスについてです。
皆さんメリークリスマス。
今このpodcastはクリスマスイブに録音をしています。
今日は、私の小さい頃のクリスマスの思い出について話そうかなと思います。
私が小さい時はクリスマス当日も楽しいのですが、その1ヵ月前からとても楽しかったです。
何が楽しいかというと、日本にはトイザラスと言う1番有名なおもちゃ屋さんがあります。
子供にとってはテーマパークのようなお店です。
で、12月になるとトイザラスから広告が届きます。
その広告は1枚じゃなくて、冊子になっていて、本のようになっていて、たくさんのおもちゃが書いてあります。
それを見ながら欲しいものに丸をつけるのが本当に楽しかったです。
で、兄弟と「このページで1番欲しいものを、せーので指を指す」ということを、1ページずつしていました。
それが本当に楽しかったですね。
で、クリスマスの日は、早く寝て、そしてサンタさんに手紙を書いたりしていました。
朝起きると日本では枕元にプレゼントがあります。
海外ではクリスマスツリーの下に置いてあるということが多いと思いますが、私の小さい時は朝目が覚めると枕の横にプレゼントが置いてあるというような感じでした。
それが本当に楽しかったです。
でも日本はクリスマスは平日です。
なのでプレゼントを開けたらもう学校に行かなくてはいけないというような感じでした。
まあ今年はね、土曜日なので、みんなクリスマスを楽しめるんじゃないかなと思います。

I’m recording this podcast on Christmas Eve.
Today, I’d like to talk about my memories of Christmas when I was little.
When I was a kid, I had fun on Christmas day, but I also had a lot of fun a month before that.
In Japan, there is a toy store called ToysRus, which is one of the most famous toy stores .
It’s like a theme park for kids.
So, in December, we receive an advertisement from them.
The ad is not a single sheet, but a booklet, like a book, with a lot of toys listed on it.
It was really fun to look at it and circle the ones I wanted.
Then, my siblings and I would do a page at a time, pointing to the one we wanted the most on this page.
That was really fun.
On Christmas Day, I would go to bed early and write letters to Santa Claus.
In other countries, they are usually placed under the Christmas tree.
However, when I was little, I woke up in the morning to find a present next to my pillow.
That was really fun.
But in Japan, Christmas is not a holiday.
So, after I opened the presents, then I had to go to school.
Well, this year, it’s Saturday, so I think everyone can enjoy Christmas.
