English
Hello, everyone.
SAKURA TIPS is a Japanese listening Podcast.
————————–
Today’s topic is about having animals in school.
In the elementary school I went, there were animals in the school.
At my school, we had rabbits, chickens, hamsters, goldfish, shrimp, and other animals like that.
Smaller animals such as hamsters and goldfish were kept in the classroom.
Rabbits and chickens were kept in an animal house.
All the students took care of the animals together.
Each class was assigned a different day of the week.
For example, on Mondays, for example, the first year class was in charge of feeding the animals, cleaning the animal house, and so on.
I thought this was normal, but it seems that in some countries it is unusual to keep animals at school.
I don’t know about now, but many schools have animals in Japan.
I think this is because people learn the importance of life by taking care of animals from a young age.
Taking care of animals is hard work.
When I was in elementary school, I learned that once you have an animal, you have to take responsibility for taking care of it.
In your country, do you keep animals in schools?
