English
Hello, everyone.
SAKURA TIPS is a Japanese listening Podcast.
————————–
Today’s theme is about the issues of Japan.
Today I would like to talk about what I consider to be the problem of Japan.
Japan is now a country with a large number of elderly people.
The number of younger generations is decreasing.
The percentage of elderly people and people in their fifties is very high.
Because there are more people in their 50s and above, Japanese politicians often create policies that are favorable to people in their 50s and above.
This is because they can win elections that way.
As a result, young people are becoming less and less interested in politics because they are no longer outnumbered.
Even if they go to the votes, the opinions of young people will not be reflected much.
The policies are always in favor of the elderly.
Well, that’s the way it’s structured.
And since politicians make such policies, the younger generation has almost given up or lost interest in them.
Well, I don’t want to give it up by saying it can’t be helped.
So, what should we do about it?
Well, if you are in your fifties or older, Japan is a very comfortable place to live.
But for the younger generation, I think it is becoming harder and harder to move forward.
Salaries are going down, but taxes are going up.
That’s why more and more talented young people are leaving Japan.
So, if this trend continues, there is a possibility that Japan will become less and less a developed country.
I think that other countries will overtake Japan.
I haven’t really talked about such a deep topic on the podcast, but I thought it would be good to talk about it once in a while.
