今日のテーマは、昇格についてです。
今日は、私の仕事の話をしようと思います。
私は、今日本で働いています。
会社員です。
昨日、私の上司から電話がありました。
電話の内容は、次のチャンスで私が昇格できるかもしれないという話しでした。
私の会社では、年に1回だけ昇格のチャンスがあります。
そのタイミングで、昇格できなければ、一年後にまたあります。
なので、1年待たなければいけません。
そして今回、上司から、次の昇格の時期に私を昇格させたいという話でした。
まぁ正直言うと、私自身も、次のタイミングで昇格できると思っていたので、あまり驚きはありませんでした。
むしろ、今回昇格できなければ、「なんでなんだ！」と文句を言うかもしれません。
それくらい、今回、今年ですね、今年はよく働いていると思うし、成果も出していると思っていたので、まぁ次は昇格できるだろうなと思っていました。
日本では、会社によってバラバラです。
今でも、いくつかの会社では、働いている年数によって昇格が決まったりします。
なので、能力がなくても、パフォーマンスがあまり良くなくても、1年・2年・3年と月日が経つにつれ昇格できるという会社もあります。
まぁそれは本当に良くない制度だと思います。
幸い、私の会社は能力に応じて昇格があるし、降格もあります。
なのでモチベーションが上がります。
日本もどんどん制度が変わってきているので、ただ単に長く働けば昇格できるという制度はなくなっていくと思います。

Today’s topic is about promotion.
Today, I would like to talk about my job.
I am currently working in Japan.
I am a company employee.
Yesterday, I received a call from my boss.
The content of the call was that I might be promoted at the next opportunity.
In my company, there is only one chance a year to be promoted.
If I don’t get promoted at that time, there will be another time which is one a year later.
It means I have to wait for another year.
And this time, my boss told me that he wants to promote me at the next promotion time.
Well, to be honest, I wasn’t really surprised, because I thought I would be promoted at the next time.
In fact, if I hadn’t been promoted this time, I might have complained, “Why?”
That’s how much I thought I was working hard and achieving good results this year, so I thought that I would be promoted next time.
In Japan, it varies from company to company.
Even now, in some companies, promotion is determined by the number of years you have been working.
So, even if you don’t have the ability or your performance is not very good, some companies will promote you as the months go by, one year, two years, three years.
Well, I think that is really not a good system.
Fortunately, in my company, there are promotions and demotions depending on your ability.
So it makes us motivated.
I think the system is changing more and more in Japan, so the system where you can get promoted simply by working longer will disappear.
