3 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULDN’T GO UP THE TOKYO SKY TREE

Tokyo Sky Tree

It is the tallest tower in the world with a height of 634 meters was built in February 2012. It has become so established as a symbol of Tokyo that many people refer to it as a Tokyo landmark. The Tokyo Sky Tree has an observation deck where you can see the view from 350m to 450m high. On a clear day, Mount Fuji can be seen from the observatory.

If you are wondering whether you should go to the observation deck of Tokyo Sky Tree or not, consider the following.

3 reasons why you should not go up sky tree.

1 .Expensive

As I mentioned above, the tickets are expensive. The most expensive observation deck in Tokyo is probably the Tokyo Sky Tree Observation Deck.

2 .Busy

It depends on the day and time but even in 2019, seven years after it opened, people sometimes wait 20-30 minutes on weekdays and up to an hour on weekends to get in. This often means the observation deck will be quite crowded and you may not even be able to enjoy the view at your own pace.

3 .You can’t see the Tokyo Sky Tree

As you are inside the Sky Tree, you will not get an outside view of it.. However, I would really recommend you see it from the outside at night when it is lit up.

You can see the shadow of it.

Conclusion: There is no need to go to the observation deck of Tokyo Sky Tree.

I also would not recommend the observation deck of Tokyo Tower for the same reason. Tokyo Tower is beautiful when you see it from the outside.

So where is the good place to see the view of Tokyo?

Good Places To See The View Of Tokyo

I recommend the following

  • Roppongi Hills
  • Tokyo Metropolitan Government

Roppongi Hills Observation Deck

The 52-story building offers a panoramic view of the Tokyo cityscape. For an extra fee, you can also view the city from the helipad on the roof.

  • Admission: 1,800 yen for adults, 1,200 yen for students.
  • (Rooftop + 500 yen)

■Tokyo City View

There is also the Mori Art Museum in the same building. You don’t need to move around much, so it’s a very satisfying place to visit.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government

There’s an observation deck on the 45th floor which can be accessed at no charge.

It is a twin tower and you can enjoy the view from either side. If you want to see the night view, you can enjoy it from the south observation room until 22:30.

 ■Tokyo Metropoitan Government

If you want to enjoy the view of Tokyo, the above spots are recommended, but you should also consider visiting the Sky Tree area. There is a shopping mall and amusement facility called Sky Tree Town where you can enjoy shopping for souvenirs and Japanese food.

The view from directly below the Sky Tree is truly breathtaking, so be sure to take your own special photo to create a memorable experience.
