English

Hello, everyone.
This is Mari , SAKURATIPS.
This is a Japanese language listening program for those who are studying Japanese.
I will speak Japanese slowly.

Today’s theme is about kotatsu.

Have you ever heard of a kotatsu?
A kotatsu is a table with a blanket attached.
The table is equipped with a heater and is very warm.
Japanese people love kotatsu.
Many people use a kotatsu in winter.
I also have a kotatsu.
Right now, I am making a podcast while sitting in the kotatsu.

However, there are some disadvantages to using a kotatsu.
It can make you lazy.
The kotatsu is so warm and comfortable that once you get in, it’s hard to get out.
Also, because it is so warm, it is easy to fall asleep.
I have even fallen asleep in a kotatsu.
So, I try not to use the kotatsu when I want to study or work.

In your country, how do you spend your time in winter?
I think you have stoves, heaters, etc., but what do you use?
It would be nice if kotatsu were available in other countries.

Well, that’s it for today.
Thank you for listening to me again today.
I’ll see you tomorrow.
