English

Hello, everyone.
SAKURA TIPS is a Japanese listening Podcast.

————————–

Today’s theme is about festivals in Japan.

In Japan, there are many festivals throughout the country.
There are three major festivals in Japan, known as the “Three Great Festivals of Japan.

The first one is the Gion Festival in Kyoto.
I’m sure many people know about it.
The second is the Tenjin Festival in Osaka.
I used to go to this festival when I lived in Osaka.
The third is the Kanda Festival in Tokyo.
I think this festival is held once every two years.

I have only moved to Tokyo for about three years.
Half of those years were spent in Corona, so I didn’t get to go to the festival.
There are many more famous festivals than this one.
For example, the Nebuta Festival.
This is a festival in Aomori Prefecture, and every year many people go to Aomori to see the Nebuta.
Aomori Prefecture is located in the north of Japan, so it is not an easy access.
However, a lot of people go to Aomori to see the festival.

There is also a festival called Awa Odori in Tokushima Prefecture.
Tokushima Prefecture is located in the Shikoku region.
Many people go to see this festival every year.
When you come to Japan, please check out the festivals.
You will be able to see the traditional Japanese culture.
