English

Hello, everyone.
SAKURA TIPS is a Japanese listening Podcast.

————————–

Today’s theme is about a cultural exchange meetings.

Yesterday, we held a cultural exchange meeting.
This is the fourth time, and we have done it three times so far.
The result was 27 people participated.
So, Japanese people and non-Japanese who are studying Japanese participated and we talked a lot.
It was a lot of fun.
I thought we didn’t have enough time.

The preparation for this event is very hard.
I have to gather people, do a lot of work, and then finally the day of the event.
There are so many things to do, and I feel that once a month is the enough.
It’s impossible to do this every week.

What we talked about was “Why do Japanese people live longer?”, “What is the difference between Osaka people and Tokyo people? And for those who live in other countries, we talked about “the differences between people who live in the capital city and those who live in the countryside”.
What was very interesting was that people in the countryside are relatively more friendly.
They say they say “Hi” or “Hello” to people when they walk down the street.
However, in cities and large towns, people are more focused on themselves and do not actively communicate with others.
This seems to be true of Tokyo already.
In Tokyo, people never greet strangers.
We never talk to the person sitting next to us on the bus or the train.
Well, I had a lot of fun talking with them.

Well, that’s it for today.

I have an online community for Japanese learners.

And, I made a Japanese Speaking Textbook.
