Hello, everyone.
SAKURA TIPS is a Japanese listening Podcast.

————————–

Today’s topic is about the second shot of vaccines.

I recently took my second shot of vaccines.
I had the first one last month and the second one this month.
Today I’d like to talk about the side effect of the second shot of vaccine.

The vaccine I received was the Moderna vaccine.
First of all, there was nothing for a few hours after the vaccine.
So I ate dinner early, took a bath early, and well, I was done with everything for a day.
Then I went to bed with no fever.
I woke up in the morning and took my temperature. I had a slight fever of 37.4 degrees or in the early 37s.
So, it was about 12 hours later.
I started to have a fever about 12 hours later.

So, after I took the medicine, I slept all day.
And it was a little hard to make food, so I ate jelly.
And I drank a lot of water.
I really drank it a lot.
Thanks to the medicine, my temperature kept hovering around 37.7 to 37.8.
Then, at night, it went down to 36.5 degrees or lower.
I thought “Thanks God, it’s over!” But then the fever started to rise again, and it reached 38.4 degrees.
When a fever exceeds 38 degrees, I start to feel cold.
It’s called “悪寒(Okan)”.
Well, I went to bed with a high fever, and when I woke up in the morning, the temperature had dropped to 37.4.
And from there, when it slowed down again, the fever went down and I started feeling better.
So, in my case, I had a fever for 24 hours.
But I have been fine since then.

In Japan, the vaccine is still not spread, and I think I took shots earlier compared to others.
I hope the vaccine becomes widely available soon.
